Isamu Noguchi displays with delight his kinship with the art of sculpture in his ceramic designs. His prolific pottery work was produced almost exclusively during his residency in Japan, before 1952.
One lone work was produced after his departure from his home country; it was the prototype for these lovely tea cup and saucers. The design was not put into production till recently, and now brought to you in sleek white porcelain. The inspiration for this sculptural, sexy curvy form was, surprisingly an old Japanese terra-cotta cup that Noguchi owned while in Japan.
Comes to you lovingly gift boxed. |
