Rene Herbst was one of the 20th century's most prominent French modernists. In 1927 he began experimenting with tubular metal furniture. Some of the notables integrated elasticized strapping manufactured by his own firm, Etablissements Rene Herbst.
This elasticized chair was debuted in a Herbst interior design for a Paris apartment in 1929, and was consequently broadly exhibited, most predominantly at the Brussels 'Exposition des Arts Decoratifs' in 1934.
As you expect, this authentic Vitra Miniature always comes in the Vitra Design Museum?s wooden shipping crate with informative booklet.
