This is a new release of this item, we are proud to present the Herman Miller Eames Walnut Stool set... in solid walnut!
The Eames Walnut Stools were originally designed in 1960 for the Time-Life Building lobby in New York. The finely crafted stools project the formal sensuousness of a piece of sculpture. The carry distinctive, animated personalities of their own and are objects which attract much admiration.
They have the versatility of being used as low tables small adaptable seats, or even a stand for a special object. This design was a sharp departure from the other designs the Eames were becoming well known for, designs using laminates and wire bases.
Rays influence is strongly present here; her background in sculpture is evident. Carved in three shapes, all of solid walnut, these subtle designs are beautiful as objects, yet functional as tables or stools. The set of miniatures comes with all three distinctive shapes.
These miniatures by Herman Miller, and pay homage to the original design. The miniature Walnut Stools measure almost 2" tall, and are 1 5/8" in diameter, similar in scale to the Vitra Design Museum Miniatures. They are made of solid turned wood.
A cost sensitive alternative to the version made by Vitra. |
