Isamu Noguchi shows his affinity for sculpture in his furniture designs. The sculptural organization of this little rocking stool shows influence from modern design movement of the 50's and his strong Japanese aesthetic. Working for Hans Knoll, the original design showed this stool with a polyurethane plastic base, however he re-adapting the design with a wire rack influenced by good friend Bertioa. The central, round foot and diagonally shifted wire staffs also resulted in a series of desks, which unfortunately were only produced for short time.
As you expect, this authentic Vitra Miniature always comes in the Vitra Design Museum?s wooden shipping crate with informative booklet. |
