This one just makes me smile.
But... It's discontinued, and that is sad...
This is a favorite amongst Eames collectors of chairs. The prototype was designed for the Museum of Modern Art's "International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design" in 1948. This organically shaped one-piece bucket seat adapted to the shape of the human body and is supported by an eiffel tower base with birch wood runners. Rumor has it that the RAR rockers were originally given as gifts to Herman Miller employees who had just had newborns. :D
Pictured is the RAR (or Rocking Armchair Rod) Chair rendered in happy yellow.
